At times I feel that
I am not doing nearly
enough to build God's
Kingdom. Earlier in
my life I was able to
travel throughout the
U.S. and to other
countries, telling people about God's Good
News. Now I'm able to do little more than write
what I believe God is telling me.
When I'm tempted to feel useless, God steps
in and has one of His children give me an
encouraging message. They tell me how something
I have written has helped them know
Jesus as their Savior, given them new joy, or
helped them lead another person to Christ. This
is the way God's people should minister to one
another. He has many servants to accomplish
His purposes. Each of us has our part in His
plan.
There are different kinds of service to God, but
it is the same Lord we are serving (I Cor. 12:5).
We can all be part of God's plan. Then at the
right time He will gather us to our eternal
home. In the meantime, we have opportunities
to do what He has planned for each of us to do.
Jesus' followers sometimes spent years in
prison, shut away with nothing to do but write.
They probably were tempted to think, “Why am
I trapped in this terrible place? I'm unable to be
telling people the wonderful things that Jesus
|

did and the many things that He taught us.”
Instead they spent their time recording what
Jesus had taught them.
God used His children to get His written
message to billions of people. In doing this, the
Word of God has changed the world!
Our assignment is to do what we can do.
There may be more that we can do, but first we
must do what we can do. God will not give us
more to do until we do what we can do. Pray
that He will help you to seize every opportunity
to give someone the message that Jesus died to
give them.
Always keep in your thoughts that Jesus
made God's Good News possible! God will
reward both now, and in eternity, anyone who
helps to share His message to the entire world.
Before you decide that you will, or will not
do something that might lead a person to Christ,
remember that Jesus died to give you a message
from God! Remember that other Christians
have risked everything rather than fail to give
someone the message that Jesus made possible.
Some knew they would be persecuted or even
executed for telling others the Good News.
You and I may lose a God given opportunity
because we are too busy, or too embarrassed to
help others know what we believe is true.
Remember - when we are deciding to do
or not to do what we can do, we may affect
another person's eternity!

Since my 85th birthday I have
been meditating on the ways
that God has guided my life.
My two grandmothers were devoted
Christians and did their best to teach their children
how to be Christians. Mother taught me
and did her best to help my father understand
what she knew, until he was 33. Then he too
was converted and received a passion to win
the world to Christ.
When I was a few months old pneumonia
nearly ended my life. Dad called the only local
doctor and after dark he drove his horse and
buggy three miles to our home. He told my
parents what to do and they worked all night to
save my life.
Since then - I could go on and on - as a
passenger in a car, I twice rolled over, down a
hill and crawled out unscathed both times.
During four wars and 90 parachute jumps I
had rifle and artillery shells to the left and right
around me but never through me! (No purple
hearts).
|
I have piloted or flown in airplanes for hundreds
of thousands of miles but never crashed -
close but not that close.
Scores of other things happened but God
kept me going for His purposes. Better men
have died but God planned for me to stay here
for a while.
Now I want to serve Him for whatever days
He keeps me here. There is much to do. Some
folks have never had even one person give
them the Good News of how they can be sure
they are going to Heaven. During my remaining
days I will try to share God's Good News
to as many people as I can. I will keep encouraging
you to reach people around you. God
will see our zeal and He will bless our efforts
regardless of how difficult our task may seem.
Let's rejoice and be glad that we are still alive
and able to share Heaven with others.

Happy 85th! I'll soon be 98 and I hope one day you
will be that age and still healthy and active as I am. I
have read and re-read all of your books, and listened
to Prison to Praise many times, and every time I am
rejuvenated by the stories.
Eunice, AZ
Thank you so much for all the blessing we've
received through reading your books. We thank God
for you and Mary.
Bob & Barb, MT
Your books and tapes have helped me so very much.
I know they will help my granddaughter. It is hard to
get people to praise for everything as their minds and
reason tells them it's crazy.
Jackie, IA
Your Praise News message has been a source of
encouragement and blessing throughout the years,
and has really dealt a blow to the kingdom of darkness. Ronald, NY
Praise News is like a cool, fresh glass of water on a
scorching day. Please keep up the good work. I
enjoyed your video introduction on your website. Matt, E-mail
I can hardly wait to open Praise News because I
know God has a message for me in each of your articles.
What a blessing you have been for many years. I
hope you had a happy birthday; I will be 85 next year. Barbara, NH
Your books change lives - thank you! You are loved!
God bless you! Betty, MT
Mary's July Praise News article, “Why Is It So
Hard?” was particularly inspiring. I carry my praise
books with me at all times. I read them every day. I'd
never have made it through my life without learning
to praise the Lord. I could never put into words how
much the praise books mean to me. Joyce, OH
Mary's article, “Why Is It So Hard?” came at a
moment when I truly needed to be reminded to thank
and praise Him when everything is difficult. Thank
you Mary! Patricia, IL |
Thank you for the books you sent for our inmates.
Without your generous donation we would not be
able to offer this type of spiritual reading and growth
to the men. Chap. Holbrook, State Penitentiary, OR
One so unique and so caring deserves to be thanked!
Thank you for your recent donation of books. The
community here greatly appreciates your generosity. Chap. Reitz, Correctional Institute, PA
I wish to personally thank you for the books that we
received for our facility. I know times are hard and
donations are down, but in spite of this you are faithful
in giving. Thank you.

I have enjoyed our thirty-two page booklet,
The Bible on Praise many times. Every time
I read it, I discover something new. Each time
I wonder why I didn't understand that verse sooner.
God's Word holds secrets that we find only
when we seek, and keep on seeking, in order to
know the truths He has provided for us. Jesus said:
So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock
and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who
seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened
(Luke 11:9, 10 NKJ).
Place The Bible on Praise where you will frequently
see it and meditate on the verses. You will be blessed. |
